Cisco 3945 Slot Numbering
General
Router configuration. Removing the top right panel for a double-wide SM, the double-wide top slot becomes slot 2. 4 Single-wide SMs. 1 Double-wide SM (top slot) and 2 Single-wide SMs. Slot 1, 2, 3, 4. Does not support extension modules. Requires a network module adapter. See 'Using Network Modules in Service Module Slots' section. When the slot dividers are removed, slot 0 and slot 1 becomes slot 1, and slot 2 and slot 3 becomes slot 3. Note: To install double-wide service modules in the Cisco 3900 series routers, remove the slot divider between slots SM3 and SM4 (3945), and remove the blank panel to the right of SM2 (3925).
